Get an accelerated Best Practice –
let GAVDI implement SAP HCM.
Would you hire the same company that built your summer cottage to build a bridge? We would not – because specialized tasks require specialized methodologies, specific tools and people with the right experience – in other words: Best Practice. Implementing SAP HCM is the core Best Practice of GAVDI – we let others implement other parts of SAP and build summer cottages.
GAVDI has an extensive experience in implementing SAP HCM. Our consultants have driven more than 50 SAP HCM implementations in different countries. This includes projects in the public sector, a wide range of industries in the private sector including stand-alone HCM projects, HCM sub-projects, and larger implementations. We have turned our extensive experience into the GAVDI Best Practice for implementing SAP HCM.

The GAVDI implementation method is based on the SAP ASAP implementation method which is a general methodology for any kind of SAP implementation project. GAVDI has enhanced ASAP in two ways. Firstly, by choosing the appropriate techniques and tools in ASAP to support a HCM implementation. Secondly, by adding our own techniques and tools for supplementing and accelerating HCM projects. The “GAVDI Accelerators” is the common name used for the added techniques and tools.

Implementation

PreparationThe main objective of the planning phase is to define the exact scope of the project, to plan the project and define the project management procedures of the project.

The planning phase is the also the phase which bridges the GAVDI Preparation Services with the subsequent implementation project.

In the planning phase, the GAVDI Accelerators include templates for ensuring a smooth and effective HCM project performance. This includes templates for project charter, project manual, test strategy and training strategy.

Business BlueprintThe main objective of the Business Blueprint is to define the detailed scope and contents of the HCM Solution to be implemented. The Business Blueprint uses the results from the GAVDI Preparation Services as input.

The GAVDI Accelerators assist the implementation with a package of ready-to-implement Business Blueprints and a configured solution encapsulated in ready-to-run transports with corresponding configuration guides.

The GAVDI Accelerators also assist in securing that all relevant information is provided by the customer project members. This includes questionnaires used as check lists for the interviews and discussions between the customer project members and GAVDI. The information is documented in special forms and schemas developed by GAVDI using standard MS Office tools.

Finally, GAVDI also provides special Accelerators to collect and present information in the areas of time management and payroll.

RealizationThe main objective of the realization phase is the transforming the Business Blueprint into an operational HCM system including customization, test and conversion.

For the transition from Blueprint to Realization GAVDI provides an Accelerator tool to import the data from the BP Accelerators into the SAP HCM system - tasks that are normally very time consuming.

Another very time consuming and – for the customer - difficult task is the definition and description of test cases. The GAVDI Accelerators provide test case samples to be used by the customer. The use of the test samples both ensures that all aspects of the solution are properly tested thereby saving resources and time.

The GAVDI Accelerators also includes a sample catalogue of End-user training material which is available to our customers for the planning and execution of the End-user training.

Prepare
Go-live
The objective for this phase is to prepare both the HCM Solution and the organization for the go-live.

One of the main activities in this phase is the conversion of data from the legacy systems to the new HCM solution. The GAVDI Accelerators include templates for conversion programs used for the data conversion process. 

GAVDI also provides an Accelerator for building an HCM Support Center at the customer.

After Go-live
Support
The main objective of the support phase is preparing the SAP HCM solution operations and to maintain the functionality.

The documentation arising from the GAVDI Accelerators in the previous phase are included in the ASAP library ensuring that the customer has access to the full documentation for the subsequent maintenance of the HCM solution. Furthermore, GAVDI provides an Accelerator for producing the main operations manuals for the customer.
